Presentation Date: 06/26/23
Location: Zoom

More info

This Monday (June 26) at 2:00pm EST I will speak via Zoom to the international group “Sparks of Glory”, an organisation which was created more than 10 years ago by Sylvie Davidovici, Paris-born, then resident of Antwerp-Belgium, currently residing in Israel. “Sparks of Glory” was established to honor and the mission of continuing the memory of the past and advancing education about the Holocaust. Most of the members of the group are women, daughters of survivors of the Holocaust, a majority of whom from traditional Jewish communities, who are involved in education.

Sylvie’s mother, Edith Davidovici, was a survivor of Auschwitz, married to Wiesel, a relative of Elie Wiesel. She was arrested and deported to Auschwitz by the French police. She survived, but the rest of the family did not. Edith Davidovici was awarded the “Légion d’Honneur” from French president Jacques Chirac for her work of Memory and Education. Her testimony (in French) was published and distributed in French, English, Hebrew, Dutch, and is now being also translated into Yiddish.

Participation in the live Zoom meeting is limited due to technical restrictions. The recording of my talk will be available for viewing after the event. For more information,  you need to email your request to eshetchailclub@gmail.com.
