Irit Felsen
I will give a presentation as part of a Panel Discussion on Trauma and Mental Health at the UN on Thursday February 23rd. The meeting is free and is open to the public. The location of the meeting is:
866 UN Plaza
New York City
The presentation will take place 1:00-3:30pm; I will be presenting on the lessons learned from empirical studies of the children of Holocaust survivors, throughout their life span from adolescence into midlife. Findings show long-term effects of parental historical trauma in the lives of their adult children. Some factors that support recovery and better re-integration in survivors of trauma and in their children that have been identified in this large population should inform social interventions to support better post-trauma adaptation in recent trauma-exposed families.
