More info

Dear Friends,
I would like to let you know that on Monday March 18 at 7:00pm EDT I will have the honor of leading a conversation with the artist Paula Blumenfeld about her incredible series of paintings of women who were part of the resistance in the Ghettos. Based on the book “The Light of Days” by Judy Battalion, Paula painted 18 portraits, some of which we will see as Paula will discuss them in greater detail. These women’s stories have not been as well represented in our general narrative of the Holocaust, and the book, and Paula’s series of remarkable portraits based on actual documents, are important in highlighting the role of these lesser known heroines.
The event, which is entitled “Women in Art: Polish Jewish Women Who Fought the Nazis” and  sponsored by the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, will take place over Zoom. Click on the image below to go to the registration page.
