Last Month at the Fanya Gottesfeld Heller Conference for Educators, titled “Lives Turned Upside Down: Teenagers During The Holocaust”, there was an outstanding turnout of educators who teach about the Holocaust and its lessons for young people in 21st century. Organized by Elizabeth Edelstein, Vice President for Education at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the evening included my lecture entitled: “Defying Evil: Child and Adolescent Holocaust Survivors”, which was followed by Prof. Samuel Kassow, who read excerpts from the diaries of adolescents who perished in the Holocaust, written in real-time during the Holocaust.
