Dear 2G and 3G friends!

“Amcha” Tel-Aviv is offering a free virtual program on Zoom for Hebrew speaking 2G and 3G from across the globe, to come together to honor Yom Hashoa. The program, in Hebrew, will take place on Thursday April 28 at 19:00 Israel local time.

As part of this program, I will address the experiences of 2G during the Covid-19 pandemic and in response to the multiple socio-political crises we have lived through in the recent two years, including most recently the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which has brought up a lot of complex emotions for many of us.

My work and empirical research with the descendants of Holocaust survivors show that we don’t always feel we can be fully understood by others who are not descendants of Holocaust survivors. The legacy of the Holocaust finds many manifestations in our responses to current events, especially to events that echo and remind us of the traumatic experiences of our (grand)parents. This program aims to offer a space for sharing and listening to each other. The presentation will be followed by an  interactive discussion among the participants.

More information about the program can be found in the poster below. No per-registration is required. Clicking on the poster image will connect to the Zoom link for the event once it starts, or you can connect by clicking on https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83375471507?pwd=TUJFWjlwUGRoKzd6eGxQR2V0dEgxdz09.

  1. Dr. Felsen,
As usual, Thank you for your relevant work especially in these troubling times. Hopefully, it will contribute to an end to racisim, genocide and the tragedies of war. On the eve of this Passover commemorating freedom from oppression, I wish you & yours all the best.

      Dear Lea,

I thank you very much for your lovely words. It does seem these days like things are going in the wrong direction everywhere, but we must stay optimistic and do what we can.

I wish you and yours all the best, warmly,
      Irit
