Sunday April 10: “Drawing on the Past to Meet the Crises of Our Present”

Presentation Date: 04/10/22
Location: Zoom

More info

This Sunday (April 10) at 1 PM Eastern time, the World Federation Of Jewish Child Survivors and Descendants will be hosting a virtual program.  Helen Epstein will be speaking on “Drawing on the past to meet the crises of our present”.  She will talk about how her parents’ experiences during the Holocaust were role models for her as she faced Covid-19 and her own personal battle with cancer.  She will also explain how similar coping skills can help us as we face current crises, Ukraine, censorship, rising antisemitism, etc.

Helen will speak for about 20 minutes. We will then break up into smaller groups for about an hour on Zoom for more personal discussions.  There will be separate groups for survivors, 2G’s, and 3G’s.  I will be facilitating one of the groups. Other groups will be facilitated by my colleagues Dr. Jenni Frumer, Dr. Ira Brenner, Dr. Carole Kornreich, and others.

The program is free, but registration is required. If you would like to join us for this program, please click on the image below and fill in the registration form. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join the meeting.

I would expect the presentation by Helen Epstein will be recorded, but not the interactive group discussions in the breakup rooms. However, this decision is up to the organizers of this program, the WFJHCS. If a video becomes available, I will post the link to it on my blog.
