This coming week on Thursday, March 24, 2016, I will attend the Annual Bill Lane Social Work Disaster Response Conference . The topic this year is The Integrative Model of Coping and Resiliency: Basic Theory and Practice.
The conference will bring together experts in disaster mental health to explore best practice models of disaster response. The presenters at the Conference this year are from the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC) and have vast experience in caring for those in crisis. The ITC has pioneered creative methods of intervening in the aftermath of disaster and developed a model of coping and resiliency which they will share and demonstrate.
I am sure this will be an important and meaningful educational experience which will enrich the clinical skills of the participants in ways relevant to disaster response and beyond it.
