The museum is offering a summer course to NYC public and Catholic school teachers focused on “Children During the Holocaust”. This course, organized by Elizabeth Edelstein, vice president for education at the Museum, is an important educational opportunity to help teachers bring the particular experiences of those who were children and adolescents during the Holocaust to their students, and establish relevant connections between discrimination, injustice, civic apathy and more extreme forms of persecution that can arise from them. This is a unique perspective that aims at bringing the meaning of the Holocaust and lessons that can be learned from it to the hearts of young students of similar age as the children and adolescents who survived the Holocaust.
