Book About Child Survivors in the Early Post-War Years is Now Available

Yesterday I received by mail the freshly printed copies of the book “Starting Anew: The Rehabilitation of Child Survivors of the Holocaust in the Early Postwar Years” published by Yad Vashem. As I had explained in a previous blog post, my chapter in the book, written together with my colleague Danny Brom,  is entitled “Adaptation to Trauma, Silence, and Social Support”, and is based on qualitative analysis of in-depth interviews with child survivors.  These outstanding, now-aging individuals who were children and adolescents during the Holocaust generously shared with me their recollections of their experiences in the early years after the end of WWII and after they immigrated to their new homelands.

The book can be ordered from a variety of sources, including the Yad Vashem online bookstore and Amazon.

I am deeply grateful for the remarkable opportunity I had, to speak so intimately with these remarkably resilient and inspiring individuals.
