This year, more than any other time, it is so important to gather at the upcoming 35th conference of the World Federation of Jewish Survivors of the Holocaust and Descendants (WFJHS&D). This has been the most difficult year in the history of the State of Israel, and it has also been a turning point in the experience of being Jewish in America. We need to get together to support each other, and also to think about how we need to respond to the new post-October 7 reality that our children and the young generation of Jewish people are facing. New perspectives are needed to enhance Jewish identity, unity and resilience.
In my plenary presentation on Sept. 22 at the 2024 WFJHS&D conference in Toronto, I will speak to these topics and share some of the findings from a recent research, in which many of you were kind enough to participate. This study, conducted in collaboration with my colleague, Prof. Amit Shrira from Bar Ilan University, focuses on the responses of children of Holocaust survivors in North America to the circumstances to which we have all been exposed since October 7.
Please join us in this remarkable opportunity to be together for a few days in Toronto. For more information, and to register to attend the conference in Toronto, click on the image of the conference poster below.
