Presentation Date: 01/27/21
Location: Zoom

More info

I was invited by Dr. Lori Weintrob, the director of the Wagner College Holocaust Center to speak on Wednesday January 27, as  we will be commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Wagner College Holocaust Center, which is located on Staten Island, was established in 2014, with the purpose of promoting education about the impact of prejudice, intolerance, and antisemitism. The program aims to engage youth and community members, with special attention to creating ties to local Holocaust survivors to ensure that the persecution and genocide of the Jews and others during and since World War II are never forgotten or repeated. The Wagner Holocaust center offers extensive internships, community programs and research assistance to teachers and students. On Wednesday at 7:00pm I will be giving a short presentation about intergenerational transmission of trauma and what we have learned from the study of Holocaust families, which will be followed by a dialogue with Dr. Weintrob, who is a Professor of history and also the editor of a book titled “Beyond Bystanders: Educational Leadership for a Humane Culture in a Globalizing Reality” (to purchase the book you can go to: https://www.springer.com/us/book/9789463510264?gclid=EAIaIQobChMItaKmldzt6AIVEa_ICh0u2AsAEAYYAiABEgLB5_D_BwE)
